The Privilege Pack (PP) is a creative collection from the OIIMC brand by Ant Thomas, Boston artist, community organizer, and entrepreneur that includes an EP and short film. This project is a Shakespearean experience–the 5 song EP is represented in 5 acts in the short film that features tragedy and comedy. PP tells Ant’s story of a Black youth facing normalized traumas and looking to earn a decent living. In his neighborhood it felt like this was only reserved for the privileged. His story shows how privileges come for kids like him too. PP takes us through the lack of privileges, earning privileges, having privileges, and losing them. The recurring theme of dreams vs reality is also frequently spotlighted during the film. Maybe the ultimate privilege is being able to wake up from a bad dream or just being alive.
